Excerpt of Tchaikovsky's Overture 1812, Op. 49 featuring fireworks and canons! The grand finale to a wonderful program yesterday by the San Diego Symphony Orchestra. Quite a fun evening with friends.
It has been such a blessing and honor to be a part of the Grace SLO College group these last two years, and a part of the Leadership Team for the group for this last year. So many wonderful people, unforgettable memories, but the best of all so many friendships to last a lifetime. Thank you Grace SLO College for everything. I am more grateful than I can properly express in words. I look forward to coming back to visit :)
So...I couldn't help but put together a cheesy "year in review" -esk post. It's a month and six days late, but since I finally had the time to put something together I figured, why not? I typically don't enjoy doing cliche bandwagon-like things, but it was a fun going through photos from this year. 2013 held many great memories and experiences to remember for a lifetime.
Well, today pretty much brings to a close my three years of student government involvement at Cal Poly. From my freshman year attending every Board meeting and serving on Executive Staff, to these last two years serving as an elected representative on the Board of Directors. It has been a quite fantastic. So many memories and great friendships to cherish forever. I don't think I would love Cal Poly and be as in tune with how things operate here were it not for my experiences in student government. I have been able to see the university from a perspective few students ever have the opportunity to experience, been able to develop many leadership and professional skills, and above all I have been able to serve as a dedicated representative of my college.
Thank you COSAM and CLA for electing me to serve you. It will be exciting to see what lies ahead for me as I go into my last year at Cal Poly. If anything, maybe I'll have a little more free time on hand now that I won't have so many student government meetings every week! :)
